Why Outpatient Treatment
The good news is that treatment works! Outpatient treatment is a convenient, affordable treatment option that allows you to enjoy many of the resources offered in residential treatment without leaving your family, job, etc. Outpatient care includes individual and group counseling as well as lectures and group processing. The frequency of these sessions is reduced from the more intense residential treatment schedule.
Outpatient treatment is a drug rehab solution that is appropriate for someone who chronically abuses drugs and alcohol but may not have developed a diagnosis of dependency. Persons who benefit from outpatient treatment typically have longer periods of sobriety between relapses and enjoy a living environment that is conducive for their recovery.
Our Outpatient Program is designed for individuals who do not require the more structured environment of residential treatment to achieve and maintain sobriety. The program is perfect for people who are ready to return to work, school or other responsibilities. The average length of stay is 3 to 4 months and will vary based on individual client needs and circumstances.
The program provides confidential, individualized treatment, individual and group counseling, addiction and recovery education, anger management, relapse support, 12-Step support, life skills and other topics. The first component is an intensive program (IOP), which is a minimum 6 hours of group per week for up to 5 weeks. There is a 1 hour individual session per week in this program. The second component is a supportive program, which is for 2 hours of group per week with individual sessions for 3 months. The program uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps clients understand the thoughts and feelings that influence behavior.
We encourage our clients to engage themselves in Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous or other support meetings as an adjunct to their treatment.
